In the case of Hungarian secondary grammar school students, the route that SLA and TLA take is quite characteristic, as two foreign languages are learned simultaneously. The languages subjected to scrutiny are Hungarian, English, German, and French, which represent the contrast between true voice and spread glottis languages. Identical extracts of contemporary literature are presented to participants in their languages; their performances are recorded, transcribed, and analysed. The findings should facilitate the identification of the difficulties in learning the given L2 and L3 and offer practical tools for improving pronunciation in foreign language education.
