Grammatica ungherese e libro di lettura consists of two main parts: the first teaching Hungarian as a foreign language and the second is a collection of Hungarian literary pieces with translations. In my research, I have intended to focus on the first part, which consists of three chapters and 43 lessons. I have rated all 43 lessons based on my list of five criteria, and I have given 1 point if the lesson fully meets the criterion, 0.5 point if the lesson partly meets the criterion and 0 point if the lesson does not meet the criterion (Table 1). I have rated the lessons in terms of a supposedly close relationship between the underlying theory of the grammar-translation method, which is deductive logic, and the method itself.
