The results have implications for interpreter training. The development of short-section interpreting competence from C to A is not a linear process. The one aspect of interpreter performance that is not changing through training is the fluency aspect of the output of the interpreter trainees. Studies have shown (Yenkimaleki & van Heuven, 2019) however, that with targeted practice, this can also be improved. In other words, interpreter training programs might consider including courses on prosody and presentation skills.
