This chapter summarized the history of interpreter training in general and in Hungary in particular. The overview included the levels and components of training, together with the entry requirements. According to the learning outcomes detailed in Appendices 1 and 2, interpreters who complete an MA in translation and interpreting can render the written or spoken source language text accurately and grammatically correctly in the target language, they are informed about the political, economic, social and cultural life of the source and target language countries and the Member States of the European Union, and are familiar with the ethical and rhetorical norms of linguistic mediation.
