The analysis of the students’ evaluative retrospective comments indicates that, as students progress in their training, there is a shift in focus from SL comprehension towards TT production, with an additional shift within TT production from content and lexical access problems to intonation and the use of coping strategies. Lexical access problems are also manifested in disfluencies, as detailed in chapter ten.

The results are in line with the results reported by Tiselius and Jenset (2011) related to expert-novice differences in SI based on retrospection, and with those of Ribas (2012) on the use of strategies in consecutive interpreting.
