Chapter two looked at the construct of interpreting competence. First, definitions were compared, followed by details of the most important models in the field. Next, models of interpreting and translation competence were compared, mapping shared or mutual elements of the models. Results related to the perceived weight of competence elements in training and professional settings were also presented. In section 2.6, elements of consecutive interpreting competence were enumerated. Chapter two closed with an outlook, listing some open questions related to interpreting competence.
