Chapter ten provides an overview of disfluencies and research into disfluencies in CI. This is followed by detailing the methodology of the analyses presented in this chapter. Then, the frequency and distribution of disfluencies occurring in the target language output of the four interpreter trainees are analysed. Next, comparisons are made between the consecutively interpreted and spontaneous and extemporaneous speech of the interpreter trainees. This is followed by mapping the relationship between disfluencies in the consecutively interpreted target texts and problem triggers in the source language text.
