Similarly to what was found in the first data collection wave, no significant difference was observed between HT students (M = 42.95) and PE students (M = 37.49) concerning time on task. This finding is consistent with those of Garcia (2010) and Carl et al. (2011) who failed to find differences between the two work modes.

In the context of our study, a possible explanation can be that students lack the necessary amount of experience in translation, but most of all, in post-editing; consequently, they may waste time on unnecessary processes. This, however, can only be confirmed by analysing process data.
