The literature exploring determinants of different types of parental support in Hungary is scant. Housing-related family support was extensively researched in the 1980s when exploiting the labour of families became an important goal of economic policy. Yet the validity of much of the findings of these analyses might be limited today. Furthermore, existing analyses rarely applied advanced statistical methods such as regression to find causal relationships between parental support and independent variables. For this reason, in the following studies, presenting simple correlations of different types of parental support with certain selected factors are also summarised.
