Following the theoretical underpinnings of ICT integration, to discuss the main rationales behind technology inclusion in education, this section looks at some frequently occurring reasons for integration. In order not to project a utopian image on technology inclusion, the digital divide is also addressed; that is, the gap that integration created especially among those with difficult socioeconomic status. Finally, an analysis of education policy reforms synthesise what approaches certain countries around the globe follow in ICT inclusion. This analysis also makes it possible to outline each nation’s long-term visions towards technology-inclusive educational development.
